COMMENTS:

This
is the section of the Milky Way we can't see from Michigan (42ยบ
latitude), but is easily within reach from the Florida Keys. The
back leg and tail of Canis Major is visible in the upper right.
Constellations also visible in this image are Puppis, Pyxis, Vela,
Antila, and Carina. The bright star above the bright red portable
observatory (and to the left of the tree) is Canopus; the second
brightest star in the sky.
